Quiet in nature to revive the soul.

Wonderful home for an extended family to stay. Clean, well-equipped, close to town, beautiful views, perfect place to relax and great value for money. We loved our stay.

2-night stay in a farm environment.

Lovely rustic accommodation with lots of character. We would stay there again - quite cold at night (August) as the sun takes a while to crest the mountains. The shower does need to be improved in that the water does not drain away fast enough. The front door was hard to lock - needed a firm slam to allow the key to engage.

The beauty and peacefulness of the farm is healing balm to the soul.

Swaynekloof Farm is tranquil and absolutely beautiful. I would love to return for a much longer stay. The historical feel of the cottages adds to the charm of the farm. I stayed in Heritage Cottage and was intrigued by the wooden roof trusses, door frames, window shutters and stable door. I would have loved to learn more about the history of the farm. Thank you Peter and Colleen for sharing your farm with strangers.

Lekker gebly in Heritage Cottage.

Heerlike plaasatmosfeer. Die huisie is toegerus met alles wat benodig was. Ons het lekker gekuier, gestap na die dam, gehengel en piekniek gehou op die rivieroewer. Sal beslis weer wil kom kuier.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Peace and solitude were fantastic.

Dit was baie rustig.

Ek was met my gesin by Swaynekloof-plaas verlede jaar Desember. Die rustigheid en ligging was ongelooflik. Die vlieë was bietjie van 'n probleem daardie tyd van die jaar, maar andersins was dit lekker. Ons sal weer gaan inloer. Dankie Pete en Colleen vir jul gasvryheid.

Aangenaam.

Ons het waardeer dat hulle alles gedoen het wat nodig was om die flits wat ons daar vergeet, aan ons terug te besorg.

Stunningly peaceful secluded getaway.

We stayed at River Cabin - definitely not "smart" but perfectly adequate. The peace, birdlife, and beautiful surroundings were just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Loved the sound of the brook babbling alongside.

Interesting.

We stayed in SwayneHuis which caters for large groups 10+. We do not drink or played music. However, be wary that loud talking and laughing are not allowed late at night (around 9pm) especially if there are guests next door. With large groups of people, there is going to be a fair amount of laughter and if you throw alcohol into the mix it may get louder. If your large group is able to remain fairly quiet, whilst sitting outside then this is the perfect place as it is relaxing and peaceful. Swaynehuis is in desperate need of an update. 1 en suite bathroom and only 1 other bathroom for the rest of the crowd. That is inconvenient but if you are up to roughing it then that is okay.

Wonderliike wegbreek in die natuur.

Baie mooi plek om net te rus en batterye te recharge. Alles wat jy nodig het is daar, hoef net jou klere en kos te vat. Dit was die eerste keer wat ek my hond saamvat en sy het dit net so baie geniet. Dit was my tweede keer hier en ek sal definitief terugkom, dalk net langer volgende keer, aangesien 'n naweek te gou gaan.

Baie lekker, rustige plaaskuier.

Ons het vreeslik lekker gerus op die plaas. Dit is baie rustig en vreeslik mooi. Die ingeboude braai in die Heritage Cottage het baie gehelp gedurende beurtkrag. Dit is aanbeveelbaar om maar 'n ekstra kombers saam te bring gedurende winter. Swaynekloof is ook reg langsaan geleë aan een van die enigste Knabstrupper Perde teelplase in Suid-Afrika en Marna Smit het ongelooflike kennis en passie vir haar perde en is wêreld bekend.

Stukkie hemel op aarde.

Ons was aangenaam verras met die Cabin wat naby die rivier geleë is en dan is dit net jy en die natuur, jou stukkie hemel op aarde. Al wat jy hoor is die voëls gedurende die dag en saans is dit hier en daar 'n voël wat uitroep andersins net moedernatuur. Om só deel te wees van die stilte is 'n belewenis na die stad se gerumoer.

Comfortable, adequately equipped in a glorious location.

We received the most detailed information I've ever had from the farm well before we started our trip. Green cottage is adequately equipped and comfortable. The setting is absolutely glorious. Unfortunately we were only using it as an overnight place during activities we were taking part in in the Bot River area but clearly, there is plenty on the farm and in the nearby area of interest.

Heerlike naweek saam met vriende op 'n rustige plek.

Wonderlike ligging op die plaas, naby Botrivier en lekker doendinge. Die plaas self bied lekker speelplek vir kinders met kano op die dam en piekniek en speelplek by die rivier. Die huis is silwerskoon en goed ingerig maar redelik basies en kort so bietjie tlc.

Salig en stil met pragtige natuurskoon.

Green Cottage is goed toegerus en het 'n heerlike vuurmaakplek en 'n mooi uitsig. Daar is baie plekkies om te 'explore' vir die kinders en 'n dam vir visvang. Eienaars is baie vriendelik en het ons goed ingelig vooraf oor die beste roete, weer ens.

Heerlik gekuier.

Die kothuis was baie netjies en skoon en die stilte baie welkom. Goeie waarde vir geld en alles wat jy nodig het is in die kothuis.

Lovely farm stay.

We've been to Swaynekloof twice now. Peter and Colleen went out of there way to make our stay wonderful. We'll be back.

Lieflike plek!

Swaynekloof is die perfekte wegbreek vir gesinne met oorgenoeg speelplek vir kinders. Die plek is goed ingerig en daar is genoeg braai-geriewe met die rivier en die speelparkie is wonderlik. Kan dit regtig sterk aanbeveel!

Lovely open spaces and such an accommodating house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely walks in the beautiful, green countryside. Lapping up the sunshine at the pool and reading a good book. The kids played rounders in the open fields and had a go at fishing. Roasting marshmallows and eating s'mores around the fire whilst listening to the lions' roar was magical. Thank you to Pete for coming to lead us across the bridge after the rains. If you go in winter, I suggest you take extra warming devices as it gets super chilly! We hope to return again in the summer. Thank you again.

Rustige wegbreek in die natuur. Rustic getaway. Grondpad.

Colleen, Pete en hulle Jack Rusells het ons verwelkom by ons aankoms. Die Riverside Cabin is toegerus met 'n groot yskas, mikrogolf en ketel. Colleen het vir ons elke dag die beurtkragtye deurgegee. Dit het baie gehelp! Perfect spot to unwind. No WiFi or cell phone reception as you are nestled in the mountain valley. The river is 500 m away. Nice to cool down in the shade and water. Many flies and mozzies buzzing around! Remember your anti-repellent spray. Die winkeltjie in Botrivier verkoop hout en ys. Ry versigtig tussen die klippe op die grondpad.

Great family weekend.

We rented the house, which sleeps twelve, and was perfect for our family of grandparents, parents and children ranging from 4 to 15. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could need. The pool and braai area leads off from the house and is a lovely entertainment area for all of us. The children all enjoyed canoeing in the dam and we enjoyed a great picnic lunch by the river. Volleyball, swinging and sliding followed by a cooling dip in the river. The only down point was that the pool water was a little cloudy, but it did not deter us from swimming. Overall a great weekend.

Pet-friendly holiday

We were surrounded by the purest form of nature. We enjoyed our time at the cottage and will definitely be back very soon.

Tranquil setting, very peaceful, a great getaway!

Swaynekloof Farm is the perfect getaway. Lovely for both old and young. There are a variety of things to do eg. picnicking under beautiful trees by the river, which is safe enough for younger children, canoeing on the little dam, hiking or taking a 4x4 through majestic renosterveld, where you can spot zebra and eland.

Unieke wegbreek indien jy van die stadslewe wil wegkom. Interessante kothuise met eie karaktertrekke. Pragtige natuurskoon, insluitende brullende leeus op die nabygeleë plaas! Ontspan en geniet die omgewing, die hulpvaardige en vriendelike gasheer en vrou en vergeet van die gejaagde lewe.

Rustic accommodation in a beautiful setting.

A very rustic house, but it had all the necessities and it was neat and clean. The beds were comfortable, which was great. The one-bedroom (sleeping three) is built on and does not have access to the bathroom. This was inconvenient during the night.

Great offline farm getaway for the family.

This is one of those places that makes memories for kids and parents. Not once during our stay did the kids complain they where bored. From the swimming pool, communal braai area to the amazing picnic site by the river kept them busy the whole time. Watching the sunset by the braai area with other guests around the pit fire we then heard the roar of lions that continued throughout the night. It was amazing. We will be back for a longer stay.

One of my best experiences with nature.

This is the perfect place to get away from our busy lives in Cape Town. It's not more than 90 mins away form Cape Town. My kids loved swimming in the river and just relaxing in nature.

A beautiful place to relax, read a book and enjoy nature.

The only disappointment, we were looking forward to making use of the communal pool but it is so small, max 4 people, also it's not well situated as it is very close to one of the chalets which makes it very uncomfortable. Besides this, it is a very nice place to go and do nothing, just recharge your batteries from the city buzz.

Vreeslik lekker.

'n Naweek is hopeloos te kort om by Swaynekloof te bly, ons was almal vreeslik hartseer om huistoe te gaan. Kan vir enige iemand aanbeveel, ons, die kinders asook die honde het dit vreeslik baie geniet. Sal definitief weer gaan!

Second visit was just as good as the first!

Hearing the sounds of lions and the hyena from the training farm next door was amazing. Made us remember we were in Africa. We have already recommended this place to our family for their next visit.

A piece of paradise.

We had a wonderful weekend. The heritage cottage was well equipped right down to a potjiekos pot. The surroundings was great (the swimming spot by the river, the Renosterbos, the roar of the lions from the farm next door to the barking of the hyena, the magnificent views from the stoep watching the sunset sipping a glass of wine with not a sound from anywhere - truly a place to relax.). The host Peter and Colleen were wonderful Peter even took me along on a drive on the farm to feed the zebra and the eland and I was given informative lesson on the history of the farm and surrounds. Truly a great place to visit and not far from the city. Once again thanks to Peter and Colleen. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful stay.

We would definitely recommend Swaynekloof to families looking to get away together. The setting is rustic, beautiful, tranquil and simple but with all the amenities you need and the team are wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Die naweek was heerlik, behalwe vir die volgende: baie diere hare op die stapelbeddens se beddegoed (het foto's geneem) en geen plastiekware vir kinders nie, bv. bakkies en glasies.

Het die tyd by Swaynekloof baie geniet. Kinders het lekker by dam en rivier gespeel. Huis is lekker groot met genoeg spasie vir almal.

Het baie lekker gebly op die plaas saam met 'n groot familie. Baie lekker omgewing en genoeg plek vir almal in die huis. Sal net voorstel dat hulle minder breekware in die vertoonkaste en op kaggel en tafels sal sit. Dis moeilik om heeltyd almal dop te hou dat niks breek nie, want daar was soveel onnodige breekbare goed orals wat nie vir gaste bedoel is nie.

Gewaarborgde tevredenheid.

What an amazing special stay for myself and family!

Gerieflike onthaalfasiliteite.

Die verblyffasiliteite by Swaynekloof is gerieflik vir mense wat wil wegkom van die stad af en die natuur wil beleef, asook vir groter groepe familie of vriende wat saam wil weggaan. Die groot kombuis, lapa en swembad by Swaynehuis is die ideale bymekaarkom plek vir almal. Die plaas langsaan, Cornellskop, gee ook baie goeie afslag aan diegene wat by Swaynekloof bly vir diegene wat na hulle wilde diere wil gaan kyk.

Fantasties.

Die diens was stunning. Ons krag het afgegaan a.g.v. 'n brand in die kloof en hul het vinnig kerse gebring en seker gemaak ons is reg vir die aand. Krag was weer so vinnig weer aan. Nog nooit so 'n skoon plek gesien nie. Dankie, sien julle weer.

Dit was goed vir die siel.

Wonderlike plek en sal weer teruggaan.

Skoon, netjiese, gerieflike huisies wat alle selfsorggeriewe bied. Die historiese karakter van die geboue en die pragtige omgewing is 'n bonus. Vriendelike en gasvrye eienaars.

Dit was fantasties.

Ons het 'n fantastiese naweek gehad. Die prente doen nie die plek regverdigheid aan nie, want die plek is baie mooi. Ons kom definitief gou gou weer.
