The kitchen has a fridge, a small gas stove, a microwave oven, and all the utensils and cutlery. The upper bedroom is accessible via stairs in the house or outside the house. The room has 1 doublebed and 1 single bed. It also offers a modern open-plan bathroom with a loose Victorian bath, a separate toilet and plenty of space to sit and read.

Guests may make use of the fire-pit outside to braai or simply socialise.

Sutherland is located in the Northern Cape, just a stone's throw from the Western Cape's border, and is known for its clear air, stargazing and cold temperatures in winters. Sutherland is home to SALT, which is the second largest optical telescope in the world.
