The Bird’s Nest is a self-catering chalet that is located on a working farm, situated in the southern Drakensberg range, in KwaZulu-Natal. Ideal for a family looking for tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

This unit is fully furnished and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The main room is downstairs and has a king-size bed while the second bedroom upstairs contains another king-size bed, as well as 2 single beds. There is also 1 single bed in the open-plan living area, and the bathroom contains a bath, basin and toilet.

All lights in the house are powered by batteries, and candles are supplied for additional lighting. Hot water is heated with gas as well.

The kitchen includes the necessary facilities to prepare meals, such as a gas stove with an oven; a kettle; a fridge-freezer; and a few built-in cupboards to store crockery and cutlery. The lounge area also features comfortable couches, and there is a fireplace which can be used to keep the cold at bay. Outdoor braai facilities are available as well, and pets are welcome on the property.

Activities at The Bird’s Nest that guests can enjoy are hiking, cycling, and 4x4 trails if the equipment is brought with. The farm is located in the mountains of the Drakensberg region, and the nearest town is Underberg, which is about 45 km away.
