Description
The Container House was constructed from 6 shipping containers and then cladded with insulated decorative cement panels. The Container House is built on the banks of the Vaal River, and has 80m river frontage with beautiful lawns right up to the water. Enjoy spending time next to the water while fishing, canoeing, tubing, swimming or just relaxing watching the water.
The Container House is ideal for functions, bachelor parties, large family gatherings, school groups, and conferences and can accommodate up to 40 people. When booking the Container House you will have exclusive use of the house and the property.
The Container House has 5 large bedrooms that share 2 large bathrooms in the house. There are 3 additional bedrooms that each have their own bathrooms. The bedrooms contain double beds, single beds and bunk beds and can be configured to your requirements. The bathrooms have bath and shower facilities, a toilet and a washbasin. Outside the house, in a separate building, is a bathroom with 3 showers and 3 toilets.
The large kitchen is equipped with 3 fridges, an ice maker, an urn, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, 2 small potjie pots and 1 large potjie pot, and cutlery and crockery. The huge entertainment area contains plastic tables and chairs to seat up to 40 people. There is also a 5-seater lounge suite and a fireplace.
Outside, there is a large covered patio with outdoor seating and a built-in braai. 3 additional braai drums and a smaller flat braai are provided. The house is pet friendly, so you are welcome to bring your fur babies to enjoy the outdoors.
There is also a large heated Jacuzzi that can seat 14 people.
The river in front of the house is relatively shallow, so motorboats cannot be used, but it is safe to swim in. A number of canoes, life jackets and oars are available for guests to use on the river, as well as 8 big tubes. Many fish, including large fish, are caught on a regular basis, and The Container House supports a catch-and-release basis.
