Description

The Island River Lodge is situated on a private island in the middle of the Blyde River, enveloped by large indigenous trees and dense vegetation.

The accommodation comprises 8 units and can accommodate up to 16 guests at a time. All guests booked on the self-catering option have access to the communal kitchen fitted with a stove/oven, a fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery, as well as the boma and braai area located at the tented camp. Tents have views of the mountains and the chalets have views of the river.

Guests are offered the use of the swimming pool at the main lodge area.

Activities in the surrounding areas include walking trails and bird watching. Guests can expect to see the trumpeter hornbills, Pel’s fishing owl, kingfishers, and many more. This unique Eden offers the discerning traveler the perfect combination of wild virgin bushveld and riverine water.
