Description
The Olive Cottage, is an off-the-grid spacious self-catering cottage attached to the main house but with its own private entrance in a quiet neighbourhood in Helderberg, Somerset West. The property is close to various shops and a popular conference centre at The Lord Charles Hotel. The beach is 15 minutes away by car and there is easy access to the R44 towards Stellenbosch or Strand and the N2 towards Cape Town or Elgin.
The Olive Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and contains 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. The spacious bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. A double sleeper couch is also available.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a gas stove and oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso machine, coffee plunger, milk frother and microwave. Starter coffee, tea, milk, ice, salt, pepper and oil are provided on arrival. The dining table seats 4. The lounge is furnished with comfortable seating, a sleeper couch, and a TV. Netflix and DVDs can be played via an HDMI cable, which is available on request. The guest suite has access to uncapped Wi-Fi. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and clothes drying rack are also provided.
There is a small outside area, partially enclosed, that features a picnic bench, umbrella and kettle braai facility. Charcoal and firelighters are provided as part of your stay. Guests will have access to a dedicated parking space inside the property.
The house is partially off-the-grid which allows the lights to stay on during power outages. The drinking water is safe and has been treated by a reverse osmosis filter.
Although we consider our area safe all windows have security shutters. The premises is secured with beams at night and the resident well-socialised dogs provide an additional sense of security.
