The Phatt Chef Roadside Diner & Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful 90-year-old farmhouse with exquisite views over the Drakensberg Amphitheatre and the Sterkfontein Dam which borders the property with easy access for the world-class fishing of yellow fish.
There are 7 comfortable en-suite rooms with choices between double, twin, king-size beds and the family room. All rooms have exclusive use of the comfortable guest lounge with a fireplace. Rooms are all heated, have tea- and coffee-making facilities, and hot water bottles to keep guests cosy at night.
Both The Bent Arm Bar and Phatt Chef a la carte Restaurant have their own fireplace and is open daily to serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and teas for guests.
Activities in the area include walks and hikes either on the property or at the Royal Natal National Park. Motorbiking and mountain biking; home of The Berg n Bush, is also really popular here, with marked trails. Head over to the Sterkfontein Dam and try one's hand at catching the famous yellow fish or perhaps try something more adventurous with a go at the popular sport of kiteboarding. Trail running, hiking, and history tours of the surrounding areas are also great ideas. For other activities in the area, guests can go horse riding at The Northern Horse which is 25 km away, or check out adventure sports at the All Out Adventures which is 20 km.
