Good overnight stay but stay and slide.

The Family room was perfect. Everything was perfectly neat and clean and we slept very comfortably. As perfectionists, however, we feel the rest of the property leaves much to be desired. Just get the gardening services and cut the grass and thin out the overgrown plants. We had to hear that a pofader had bitten the one dog to death and with such a garden we would rather stay indoors. Evening meal was also nothing to write home about and certainly no value for money. As a suggestion, we would prefer that food be presented more attractively. For example, our ice cream was presented in a plastic container with a red lid and teaspoon. Kentucky would have been much cheaper and more filling. Compliments on the breakfast though, although I believe the beautiful verandah (although shabby) would be a cozier area. For so little criticism, I would recommend that the old house get a bit of a "phase lift". There is a lot of potential that goes with the house to decay. Grab the rags and paint brushes and you have a gem.

Amazing historical place.

Gavin and Calen are the ultimate hosts. The house is over a hundred years old, and Gavin has tried to keep as much as possible original. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet, and the food is amazing. Definitely recommended.

We had such an awesome stay, the rooms are beautiful, food divine and our host very friendly, who went the extra mile to make us comfortable.

A pleasant environment and a charming host.

The house is old (circa 1906) but is well maintained. The suite of bedrooms is new and well-furnished. We opted to have dinner as well. The food was excellent.
