Description
Thornsprings is situated less than 30 km from Middelburg in the Eastern Cape and offers quality accommodation for a family holiday. The farmhouse was built with beautifully cut, tawny sandstone in the style of Herbert Baker. Its thick walls and high ceilings render the rooms cool in scorching summer days and warm when cold nights set in.
This house can accommodate 14 guests. It comprises 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are attached to the main house furnished with a king-size bed and a single bed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom fitted with either a bath or shower. These rooms are only accessed from the outside via private entrances from the patio. The other 4 bedrooms are in a separate building near the main house. The first and second bedrooms are furnished with a queen-size bed and share an en-suite bathroom, fitted with a shower. The third bedroom contains twin single beds, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath. The fourth bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and toilet.
The self-catering kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, stove and microwave, including a cooler.
Other amenities include Wi-Fi, an indoor braai area, a pizza oven and a view of the large swimming dam.
Farm roads can be explored with a 4x4 vehicle and also offer the opportunity for hiking or mountain biking adventures.
A wide variety of birds attracts many connoisseurs, and the farm also has a large number of wildlife that can be seen.
