Over priced.

The bedding was stained and it is not at all as advertised, the units are old and not kept in a good condition with even some holes in the thatch roof. We were booked to stay for 5 nights but after 2 decided to leave as we could not bear it any longer. There is also a main road close to the units that wake you up early in the mornings. They are over priced for what you get. We over paid them for the 2 nights and they still insisted on the balance being paid, which I refused. They then started harassing us even coming to the event we were at and getting me called over the load speaker for a message. Will not recommend them to anyone and never stay there again.

Tranquil retreat in a beautiful setting with a warm and friendly welcome.

Gorgeous setting with friendly service and value for money. The chalet where we stayed in had a beautiful view of the river and one of the best things was sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and listening to the gurgling of the river below while taking in the surrounding beauty. Treehouse River Lodge's central location makes it the perfect place to stay at and be close enough to all the wonderful attractions that Shongweni has to offer as well as being close enough to the major malls like The Pavilion and Gateway for your shopping fix.

Die pragtige omgewing van die Shongweni Vallei was die hoogtepunt.

Ons het ons kuiertjie geniet by Treehouse River Lodge. Dit was lekker om na 'n dag se gewoel in die stad terug te kom na hierdie area. Shongweni is goed geleë en die mooiste areas om Durban is naby. Dit was ons "Home away from home". Vriendelike bestuur. Daar was klein dingetjies wat wel gedoen kan word vir gaste se gerief. Bv. om 'n haardroër in die kamer te sit, seep in die badkamer en toiletsproei. Dit is nie artikels wat 'n mens altyd saamneem met vakansie nie. Die son is maar warm in Desember en die bestuur moet miskien daaraan dink om 'n sonskerm op die balkon te sit. Ons het ongelukkig nie in die chalet gebly wat ons bespreek het nie maar het darem 'n lekker klein kombuisie gehad wat gerieflik was. Ons sal graag weer in die toekoms daar wil bly en het die voëls en diere in die area vreeslik geniet. Baie dankie aan die bestuur.

Shongweni is well located and the most beautiful areas around Durban are close by. It was our "Home away from home". Friendly management. There were small things that could be done for guests' comfort. E.g. to put a hairdryer in the room, soap in the bathroom and toilet spray. These are not articles that one always takes with them on holiday. The sun is only hot in December and the management should perhaps think about putting a sun screen on the balcony. Unfortunately we didn't stay in the chalet we booked but at least we had a nice little kitchen which was convenient. We would love to stay there again in the future and thoroughly enjoyed the birds and animals in the area. Many thanks to the management.
