Description

Tuckaway is an owner-run and managed guest house, situated on the well-known Broadlands Stud Farm just outside of Somerset West. The farm is just 6 km from the Gordon's Bay beach and 10 km from the Somerset Mall.

Accommodation is offered in what was the main bedroom which has an en-suite, and is ideal for a couple to enjoy a relaxed holiday, or a single person looking for a place to stay. The suite has its own private entrance through a double cottage-pane door into the garden. The bedroom contains a queen-size bed, bed side tables with lamps, a full en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower, basin and a toilet.

The suite also includes a flat-screen TV with ShowMax, Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video, surround sound, Wi-Fi internet access, tea- and coffee-making facilities, purified water, a microwave to warm up those take-aways and a bar fridge to keep the beers/cool drinks cold, a remote-controlled ceiling fan, and a wall-panel heater.

There is also a dining-room table for guests to eat a meal brought back with which includes plates, knives, forks and spoons also provided. Take-aways can be brought back and heated in the microwave. The table can also be used to work from or to use your laptop.

Should you wish, there are many very nice restaurants close by that offer all meals so you have choices.

With the large bay window and double door, guests have beautiful views onto the garden which is populated with many indigenous trees. There is a wooden bench on the patio which is just outside the bedroom door where guests can sit and enjoy. Safe parking is available at no charge.

The Helderberg has many interesting attractions for the visitor to go experience. The Somerset Mall offers 204 stores and everything it takes to give families a safe, fun-filled entertainment environment, alongside a superior browsing and shopping experience.

Bikini Beach is a Blue Flag beach situated at the quaint little town in Gordon's Bay. This is a wonderful place to spend the day with your picnic basket and sun umbrella and you will witness the most amazing sunsets.

There are a number of quaint restaurants in Gordon's Bay that offer inexpensive breakfasts and dinners, which we recommend you take advantage of. We have a braai-BBQ unit that we can move to outside your room if you feel like a braai. We just ask that on windy days, no braai'ng because of the risk of fire. Gary has worked hard on getting the garden to look good and it is really starting to take shape so come and enjoy an afternoon in the shade of one of our trees.
