We have booked Greenway 43 for our annual family holiday over December. We arrived on the 23rd of December with our 3 teenagers and we as parents were very disappointed in our accommodation when we were welcomed with a terrible stench and a misrepresented place. The description of the unit and the place we checked in were 2 different places. The unit was presented as a 3-bedroom house on an estate with many facilities (including golf). In my mind's eye, I saw my 2 teenage sons walking to the clubhouse and going to play golf ahead of time. The reality was a 3-star resort next to the luxurious White River Estate and a golf course on the other side of the estate. It was indeed a chalet whose window sides were boarded up, the braai was rusted through, no bedside lamps and blinds that didn't work. The bedding also had small stains which they later wanted us to replace with hints that it was us who ruined it. We tried to move our accommodation but website had no other places available over Christmas time. We later decided to go home earlier.

Thank you for your review. As per your booking, your were booked into unit 43. All photos on the website are current and reflect the unit. They are not two different places. You failed to mention the fact that you were very happy during your stay with constant communication from myself and housekeeping. Not once did you mention that you were unhappy with your accommodation to either myself or housekeeping as we would have gone out of our way to ensure that you have a wonderful stay during the festive season. The unit that you are referring to as a chalet, is described as a 3-bedroom unit, and not a house.
The golf course, White River Golf Course is a mere 250m walk from the estate. This was clearly communicated on all platforms as well as the guest book that can be found in the unit. You also mention bedlamps that are not working. Our unit does not have bedside lamps as we have other lighting available in our units. All linen is personally inspected by myself and there were no marks on any of the linen. We use only the best quality for our guests. Any time there is an item that is damaged it is taken out of circulation immediately and replaced. You also fail to mention that the unit was left in a state, and that there were dirty dishes in the beds and on the bedside tables. This could have been the possible cause for our linen damages that you were supposed to have paid a damage deposit for, which was not done.
Now, you also fail to mention that you refused our staff by denying them access to the unit on the day that they were allocated to give you a complimentary cleaning, which we usually charge for as you said there was money lying in the unit and insinuated that they might steal it. You also mention that you left the unit earlier than your duration. This is not true. When damages were brought to your attention of on 1 January, the day of your departure, as well as intended and booked for departure, we were told that no damage deposit was paid, and which we accept as a loss. The fact that you have to lie about properties is not acceptable as we went the extra mile to make your stay comfortable, and to meet all your needs.
