Unit 47 Eden Wilds, affectionately known as ‘the duck’s house’ is a self-catering unit ideally located in the secure Eden Wilds resort complex on the banks of the Umtamvuna River in Port Edward, and offers rest and relaxation for adults and fun for the kids. Children can enjoy feeding the local ducks, peacocks and storks. On occasion buck visit Eden Wilds from the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve.

Unit 47 Eden Wilds is a ground-floor self-catering unit set a mere 15 m from the dam. The unit can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed. The second bedroom contains a tri-bunk bed with a double-bed bottom bunk and a single-bed top bunk, sleeping 3. Both of the bedrooms are air-conditioned. The bathroom contains a shower and a bath, a toilet and a washbasin.

The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a 4-plate stove with oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. There is a breakfast bar with stools. The lounge contains a sleeper couch and a TV with a selection of DStv channels. The first bedroom and the lounge have French doors that lead onto a covered patio with a table and chairs and a kettle braai.

The Eden Wilds resort offers a communal swimming pool including a kids pool, a clubhouse with braai facilities, a pool table, a volleyball net, a children’s play area with jungle gyms and swings, and 24-hour security.

Eden Wilds borders the Umtamvuna Nature reserve which offers various walking and hiking trails. For the boating enthusiasts, the river is ideal for wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, canoeing and SUPing. Boats and jetskis can be launched at The Pont and then moored on the Eden Wilds jetty. Guests can bring their own rods and enjoy catch-and-release fishing on the dam, or fishing off the jetty.
