View on 42 offers guests comfortably furnished self-catering accommodation in Dana Bay, which is 1 km from the beach. The closest swimming beach is Santos.
Guests have a choice of booking the Aloe which is self-catering and the Protea or Fynbos rooms which only have a room and bathroom. For bigger groups, all 3 units can be booked together for a maximum of 6 guests.
Located on the ground floor and separate from the main house with a few steps down to the accommodations, the units are furnished with comfortable queen-size beds. Two of the units have en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers only, while the Aloe unit has a bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower. Each unit is tastefully decorated and has ocean views.
For convenience, linen and bath towels are provided, guests please need to bring their own beach towels.
Each unit has a microwave, a fridge, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The Aloe unit has a fully equipped kitchen, while the Protea and Fynbos rooms are not suitable for braaiing or cooking as there is no kitchen, only a microwave for heating and a kettle with tea and coffee. A Smart TV, as well as Wi-Fi access, is available in each of the units.
Guests have access to the communal garden which overlooks the ocean and greenbelt, and guests will be able to see buck and various bird species. Dolphins are a regular sight and whales can be spotted in the bay between July and November. Please note, the owner lives on the premises. Pets are unfortunately not allowed.
Surrounded by fynbos, Dana Bay is located in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom and is home to free-roaming small game and wide variety of birdlife. The nearest town Mossel Bay offers various restaurants and museums, and activities ranging from watersports and hiking.
The famous St Blaize's Trail of about 12 km can be hiked from Dana Bay to the Point in Mossel Bay.
