Description
Walviskus is situated in De Kelders and offers quality accommodation for a family or group of friends of up to 6 guests (4 adults and 2 children). It is about 35 minutes from Hermanus and 10 minutes from several shopping centres. The oceanfront unit's patio and main bedroom offer an uninterrupted view of the whales in the whale season.
The ground-floor house comprises 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 6 guests at a time. There is 1 flight of stairs leading up to this unit from the parking area. The main bedroom with a sea view has a ceiling fan, double bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom also has a double bed and the third bedroom has 2 single beds. The second bathroom is fitted with a shower, bath, toilet and basin.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, separate tea- and coffee-making facilities, a bar fridge, and crockery and cutlery. The unit also has a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The lounge has 2 comfortable couches as well as a TV with Netflix and a dining area with ample seating where guests can enjoy their meals together. Wi-Fi is available. Load-shedding lights are available in the bedrooms, keep them plugged in at all times. An emergency power light is also available on the fridge door as well as a light with batteries, that should be charged, at the coffee station.
Two bicycles, playing cards, puzzles, board games, and a hammock for lying on the porch are available for guests to use. Weber braai facilities are available, but only charcoal fires are allowed, no wood fires are allowed at the complex.
Secure, on-site parking is available. Pets are not allowed.
The area offers a variety of attractions and activities including hiking, snorkelling, Walker Bay Nature Reserve, 4x4 routes, shark cage diving in Gansbaai, beaches in the area, and various caves. There are many wine farms and breweries within a 20 km radius of De Kelders. Books about the area are available at the house.
