Description
Wheatland's Farm House and Chalets is self-catering accommodation located on a working sheep farm, a mere 40 km from Mossel Bay. Accommodation is available in the 10-sleeper Farm House or 4 cottages able to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children each.
The Farm House has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a seperate flat. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with bath, shower, basin and toilet. The other 2 bedrooms each have 2 three-quarter beds. The second bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet. There is an additional double sleeper couch in the sunroom. The separate flat has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet. The well-equipped kitchen consists of a double oven, 4-plate stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery for 8 people. Iron and ironing board available. Wheatlands Farm House also offer an outside braai and ample outside parking.
There 4 chalets on the farm are adjacent to one of the game camps. It is built out of corrugated iron and part of steel frame shelves. Wheatland's chalets are all equipped for 4 people, preferably 2 adults and 2 children.
Each chalet is a bachelor type unit with a private bathroom, fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Recommended sleeping arrangements are 2 adults on a queen-size bed and 2 children on a bunk bed. In addition to the sleeping facilities, each unit is furnished with a dining room table and 4 chairs, a lounge area with 2 leather couches and a coffee table. The kitchen is equipped with an induction plate, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Bedding and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.
There are braai facilities on the verandah with outside furniture. Sit on the verandah and enjoy the roaming of spring buck on your doorstep and sometimes the zebras, Al Paccas and blue wildebeest also come by. The elands keep themselves at a distance in a nearby camp.
The chalets have no TV facility nor an oven.
Please note that we have farm water which is perfectly drinkable, but bottled water is recommended.
Activities and sites in the area include fishing, picnic spots, gin, wine and cheese tastings, “boerekos” at neaby farm restaurants, the Aloe Factory, game viewing at nearby game lodge, beaches in Vleesbaai, Gouritsmond, Stilbaai, Mossel Bay, 4x4 dune riding, jogging, hiking and cycling.
