Description

The cottages are set on the edge of the Knysna forest in a lush beautifully designed garden. The interior, designed and created by the owners, is peaceful and romantic. The space, decorated with an abundance of art, objects, authentic carpets and fabrics, is a retreat for the creative, designer, artist and the one who wants to be surrounded with beauty, harmony and nature. The garden is a reflection of the owners' love of plants, flowers and gardening.

Woodcutters Cottage is one of two beautiful cottages on the edge of the Knysna forest. 2 - 4 guests can sleep in 2 bedrooms with a large open-plan living/dining area which is ideal for large families or small groups. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has views of the indigenous forest from the convenience of the patio. There is a cozy fireplace and a braai facility for guests to use. It is the perfect location to be if you want to retreat and experience peace and quiet.

Mellow Wood Cottage is one of two beautiful cottages on the edge of the Knysna forest. It is a lovely place for 2 guests to relax in. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has its own small garden space. Guests may sit on the swinging bench and have a lovely view of the garden. Also guests can sit on the patio and have a braai or have a cozy fireplace in winter.

Someone will receive guests at the farm gate and show them to the cottages. Then guests will be left undisturbed. But there is someone always available on the property if guests may need anything.

Guests will be surrounded by Indigenous forest, pine plantations and farmland. They can enjoy activities in the area such as the Circles in the Forest hiking trail, cycling through the forest such as the Homtini Route, swimming at Drup Kelders, have a picnic at Jubilee Creek or enjoy birdwatching where they may spot specials such as the Nerina Trogon and the Knysna Loerie. They can visit the Dalene Mathee Memorial at one of the Big Tree's in the Garden Route or they may take a tour to the historical Millwood Gold Mines.

Knysna, the quaint picturesque town with its sparkling lagoon is only 25 minutes away. So too are the beaches Buffelsbay and Sedgefield, the rivers and entire lake district with its water activities.

There 6 pets on the property. They are very friendly and sociable and will leave you alone if you ask them. Also we ask that guests should please not feed them.

Own transport is necessary, due to it being a rural area. Each cottage has parking facilities available.
