Diaz Beach

Description

Located at the western tip of Cape Point and surrounded by dramatic 200m high cliffs, Diaz Beach is known as one of the most scenic beaches in Cape Town. The beach is situated within the Cape Point Nature Reserve so you will be charged an entrance fee to enter. The beach is accessed by foot down a series of wooden steps that take about 20 minutes to reach the bottom. Once you reach the secluded white sands and clear waters of the beach, you will find the walk to be well worth the effort. On most days, you will have the beach to yourself, shared only with the occasional troop of baboons or flocks of seagulls. Although the beach serves up excellent waves for surfing and body boarding, swimming here can be dangerous. Lifeguards are on duty during peak season.
