The hospital is situated in Nelspoort, Western Cape. The nearest main road is the N1 highway to the West of the town. Nelspoort is located 52km North-East of Beaufort West 82km South-West of Murraysburg in the Central Karoo.

Nelspoort hospital is a public hospital and therefore services are free to pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children under the age of six years old and pensioners. Other patients are charged a consultation and/or admission fee.
