The Red Table Restaurant is a bistro-style restaurant at the Nederburg wine estate in Paarl. Enticing red tables spread from the Nederburg Manor House onto the veranda and manicured lawn, offering guests the chance to enjoy a leisurely meal and award-winning wines under ancient oak trees, with views of the leafy green vineyards and Paarl Mountain.
The Red Table Restaurant showcases the rich 200-year history of the wine farm, and visitors are encouraged to amble through the estate gardens, relax in the cocoon-like swings hanging from the trees, and peruse the old Manor house at their leisure.
Well-known Cape Town foodie, Andrea Foulkes, has worked closely with the winery to create a menu that complements the extensive range of Nederburg’s food-friendly wines. Each course has only 4 to 5 items and the menu changes regularly with the availability of fresh ingredients so foodies can keep coming back for a new selection of gastronomic delights. The wine list is extensive, but the menu lists suggested food pairings to help you pick the most complementary wine. And the option of enjoying wine by the glass means you can still appreciate a wine tasting before or after your meal. Keep an eye out for flash sales on selected wines!
For the 2013/14 season, the Summer Menu at the Red Table Restaurant comprises 5 delicious courses for R240 or choose any 4 for R195, paired with Nederburg Heritage Heroes wines!
If you’re touring the Cape Winelands this summer, make sure you plan your excursion around having lunch at The Red Table Restaurant at Nederburg in Paarl.
