Windmill Beach is a 200m long beach in the Froggy Pond area of Simon’s Town, near Cape Town. Located just south of Boulder’s Beach, this beach is fairly sheltered from the wind and its shallow waters make it perfect for families with little ones.
The beach’s inland rocky reef is a popular dive site where a wide variety of invertebrate and fish species can be found. Other activities include swimming, dog walking (no leash required), penguin viewing, fishing, picnicking, and kayaking. Facilities are limited to minimal parking, rustic municipal public toilets, changing rooms, and a fresh water shower. Please note that there are no shark spotters or lifeguards on duty so swimming is at your own risk.
