Braamfontein, a part of the cultural hub of Johannesburg, encompasses Newtown, Constitution Hill and the Civic Centre and has a whole lot to see and do. This area has seen quite a bit of a revival over the last few years with a stunning range of accommodation, restaurants, galleries and shops. The “I ❤ Braamies Tour” relaxed stroll focuses on the past, present and future of this special inner city area. Take the tour on a Saturday morning and end at the Johannesburg Neighbourhood Goods Market where you can enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, shop at the wide variety of stalls or have a refreshing drink.

Newtown, the cultural precinct of inner Johannesburg, offers a fantastic experience for anyone. This beautiful and vibey area used to be a slum and housed Johannesburg’s biggest fruit and vegetable market. Take a tour to see what was and what the present day has on offer. A visit to Johannesburg’s leading Africana museum, Museum Africa, the Workers Museum (a tribute to migrant labour) and Sci-Bono (the largest science centre in Africa) is included in this walk.
