Burkleigh House is a sixty two year old home which has been substantially altered in light of its newfound role as a first class guest house. The front facade of the house has been wrapped in a large, sunny veranda which is ideal for sundowners as it overlooks the bustle of the city from an austere elevation, with views of mature trees, an acre of lush gardens and a sparkling pool.

Guests are welcome to indulge in the seclusion of several spots where they are able to read or view the prolific bird life which have also chosen Burkleigh House as their preferred place to be.

Each of the 5 non-smoking north facing rooms boasts an impressive array of modern amenities, from high speed wi-fi access, plasma televisions and work stations for the enthusiastic business person. Each bed has sprung mattresses made up with crisp cotton sheets and duvets.The bathrooms all have extra large glass showers with antique mirrors and light fittings.

Room 1 is elegantly made up in a French Provencal theme,boasting a white antique double bed, west facing Juliet balcony with a view over the bubbling fountain and the swimming pool.

Room 2 is furnished with an antique extra length double bed and is accompanied by an original 18th Century Stinkwood and Pearwood cupboard. The bathroom is also replete with antique mirrors and fittings.

Room 3 is pleasingly fitted with an antique extra length double bed and original 18th century Cape Yellowwood cupboard and stinkwood chest of drawers. The bathroom has a frameless shower and a unique take on an antique washstand with original light fittings.

Room 4 is styled in dark woods which are subtly offset by white walls,cream and chocolate linen and boasts an original Victorian Walnut cupboard. The work station is equipped with a leather topped antique walnut desk. The bathroom completes this Victorian escape with a frameless shower and Victorian Style bath.

Room 5 has a king size extra length bed,which may be separated into two single beds and a Victorian mahogany cupboard. The work station is also replete with an executive style leather topped desk and antique desk lamp.A full bathroom with an extra large frameless shower and Victorian style ball and claw bath completes this graceful bedroom reminiscent of a bygone era.
