A quiet comfortable stay with the ocean across the street.

For a property that caters for four people, we found only 3 mugs, 3 barstools, and 3 dinner plates. We were proactive when the main ceiling light was not working, along with a missing globe in the bedroom. Both were replaced, and a dusty light cover was washed. The front right stove plate was not working, and the braai grill was missing. We went back to the agents to borrow one. A list of issues was given to the agents at check-out, including the need for a cutting board which was in the photo. As property owners in Cape Town and an oceanfront condo in Florida, USA, there are standards when we list on Airbnb. We urge the owner and agents to improve. The Jafet unit has a lot going for it. The beds were comfortable, there was a good working shower with plenty of hot water, a power strip in the kitchen, a good-sized fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and coffee machine. There were plenty of utensils, bowls, and side plates. This is a quiet property with views of the ocean, conveniently located a few minutes' drive into town (Struisbaai).

Struisbaai is a beautiful place.

Our experience at Die Ark was average. The unit had some shortcomings regarding cleaning. The porch under the roof was covered in cobwebs, indicating that it had last been properly cleaned some time ago. The master bedroom's bathroom was also not as clean as expected, especially the shower and windowsills still had candle wax from previous use. Next to the stove, the floor was also significantly dirty. The broken bench outside we reported and they came to fix it. . It is clear that the unit needs a thorough cleaning.
