Situated in South Africa’s picturesque Garden Route, Eight Bells Mountain Inn nestles in the Ruiterbos Valley Region at the foot of the Robinson Pass on the R328 between Mossel Bay (35kms) and Oudtshoorn (50 kms) away.
Established more than 80 years ago this charming Inn is renowned for its friendly hospitality, superb service and range of recreational facilities amidst magnificent mountain scenery.
The Inn proximity to the green coastal belt of the Garden Route and the timeless Little Karoo allows for easy exploration of the natural wonders, scenic mountain passes and diverse attractions that these two regions offer.

We have 25 tastefully decorated ensuite bedrooms, family units, air-conditioned log cabins and thatched rondavels set in enchanting gardens shared by an abundance of birdlife.

Breakfast consisting of a buffet and a cooked English breakfast, is served in The Oak Room Restaurant. Complimentary mid-morning and afternoon tea are served to guests at 11:00 and 16:00 respectively on the inside Patio. Beverages,teatime treats,light snacks and a mini a’ la Carte menu are available to guests throughout the day and is served in the gardens, at the pool or on our enclosed Patio Room. Dinner in the Oak Room Restaurant offers guests a choice of either an a’la Carte or table d’hote menu. Our comprehensive winelist has a superb selection of South Africa’s finest wines.

The Bosun’s Whistle Pub opens in the evenings for resident guests.

Eight Bells is situated on a 400-acre estate. Outdoor facilities consists of a bell shaped swimming pool,with small kiddies pool,sun loungers and a thatched boma, two all weather tennis courts, a glass-back squash court, bowling green, the Rooster walking trails – marked and colour coded – and horse trails. Twice daily outrides conducted by a guide as well as paddock rides for beginners – weather permitting.

Children are also well catered for with their own play park, dining room and play area Donkey cart rides for the children take place once a day after breakfast.

Protea and fynbos is a feature during the months of autumn, winter and early spring, and the abundant birdlife is a treat for birdwatchers.
