The cottage is nestled beneath the Steinkampsburg Mountains, in a Private Nature reserve, This cosey rustic wooden cottage is situated next to the indigenous forest and is totally private, with stunning views of the mountains.
The cottage has a fireplace in the lounge and is fully equipped. Braai area with a table for a lazy lunch.
The cottage comprises 1 queen bedroom en-suite (bath and toilet, with the shower over the bath), another small bedroom with single bed and a double sleeper couch in the lounge. The cottage is suitable for couples with small children or for that romantic getaway, as the bathroom is open plan romantic style!
We provide firewood for the fireplace and braai/BBQ, should you wish to braai/BBQ on charcoal, then please bring your own.
Clay pigeon shooting, Spa treatments, Trout fishing, the 'Bush bath' can all be booked during your stay.
You are welcome to have a meal and or drinks at the lodge, which is 1/2 a Kilometer from the cottage (Forest creek lodge)
A question often asked is "Where are you?" The only way we can explain this is to say, if you were in Dullstroom and jumped off the mountain, you would land in our gorge (Box canyon).

TROUT FISHING
We are situated half way down the Steenkampberg Mountain Range at an altitude ideally suited to the rapid growth of Rainbow and Brown trout. Our cold, clear perennial stream feeds the trophy dam in where these lovely fish abide in a truly beautiful setting.
The dam is approximately a half hour walk from the lodge or can be reached by 4x4 vehicle, leaving a 5 minute walk.
We practice catch and release of fish hooked.
Should a fish be unable to be returned, the charge is R 75 per Kilogram with a rod fee of R 150 per day or part thereof.
Bring your own tackle and don’t forget your camera!
HIKING TRAILS
One of our unique activities at Forest Creek are the Hiking Trails in the “Cloud Forest”.
The trails are designed for the entire family, and are most suitable for the even not so fit person. Under this canopy of trees and at the edge of the Mountain one feels very small, in comparison to the magical views.
The walk to the waterfall is approximately 2 kilometres, winding through the forest and criss crossing the stream in several places under the canopy of large indigenous trees.
