Benoni is known as the city of lakes, the birth of this town, which sported rolling grasslands, swampy ground and bare hills; lay in the hope of discovering gold. Today, more than 100 years later Benoni has developed into a small city, but still has the natural appeal because of the conservation of many of the lakes. Lahani Lodge overlooks one of these lakes, the Bullfrog Pan which is one of the biggest breeding areas of the bullfrog specie. We also have an abundance of wild bird life and the surrounding area is great for walks and bird watching.
