THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA:
You may wish to venture to the nearby World Natural Heritage Site: The Greater Saint Lucia Wetland Park, where five distinct ecosystems meet to form a wonderland of ecological diversity to be found no where else in South Africa. In the north of the park, the warm sea, lush forests on tall dunes, long unspoilt sandy beaches and coral reefs of the marine reserve at Sodwana Bay are reputed to be some of the best in the World.
A short drive will bring you to World class Hluhluwe Umfolozi and Mkuze Game Reserves in which the BIG FIVE including the endangered black rhino, white rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard are found together with the tallest of all mammals – the giraffe along with vast varieties of other African wildlife. You may self drive or enjoy this experience in an open game drive vehicle.
The adventurous can canoe up the river alongside hippos and crocodiles at Muzi Pan with Themba; a Zulu registered tour operator, who offers a cultural interpretation of nature and wildlife. Visits to different cultural centres offer another glimpse into the culture of the great Zulu Nation, which is still practiced every day. The heartbeat of Africa throbs with a friendly vitality as the Zulu people welcome all who visit their region.
