Ngiri Safaris is situated in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, approximately an hour’s drive from the O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. We form part of the second phase of the newly established Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve. The area is safe, easily accessible and malaria free.
Ngiri Safaris is owner run and managed in order to give our clients the best possible experience. Ngiri Safaris consists of quality accommodation and plenty of adventure activities on a thousand hectares of pristine bushveld stocked with sixteen species of game. The animals are relatively tame as no hunting is done on the reserve. This allows one to get within a few meters of the animals whilst participating in the activities.
ACTIVITIES:
SCUBA DIVER TRAINING CENTRE:
Ngiri Safaris is open to all dive schools and diving instructors from any training agency. We have a custom made scuba training pool that is three meters deep. A heating system is currently being installed which will make year round training a possibility. We have on site lecture facilities. We have fifteen sets of scuba gear for rental as well as thirty scuba cylinders. For those requiring air fills, we have two compressors capable of filling your cylinders to 300 bar if required.
Game drives are done with our custom converted Land Rovers. We have two game viewing vehicles, which can take ten passengers each.
Quad bike game drives are done on the reserve. Our quad bikes are fully automatic so virtually anyone is capable of operating them. These excursions are done with a guide. This activity is not recommended for those that have the racing gene in their system. The ride is done very slowly. Guests owning their own quad bikes may utilize the quad bike track outside the reserve for this purpose.
Our boat safari is conducted on the nearby Rust De Winter Dam which is about thirty minutes drive from us. The Supercats can comfortably take eleven passengers at a time. The cruise is basically a game drive on the water.
We do horse trails in the reserve. The horse trails are limited to two people at a time with a guide. We only take experienced riders on the horse trails. The rides are for two hours and all guests must be able to trot and canter their horses. The rides are conducted early morning or late afternoon.
Hiking Trail and Mountain Biking - We have numerous roads and trails on the reserve. This is way to keep fit and experience the bush.
