We had a good visit.

The water tap in the kitchen needs to be fixed. There is no hot water in the kitchen. The rats at the garbage should be removed. There were at least three rats. Alternatively, the garbage needs to be moved. This would make the stay much more enjoyable.

Just what we needed.

A beautiful private site on a pecan farm beside a river. Lovely grassed sites and just enough comfort in the form of shelter, electricity and warm water to make this an ideal camping experience.

A great place to go to chill out.

The very hospitable and friendly owners gave us clean facilities and a football-sized area to pitch our camp. One gets a remote to the secure entrance gate. The hot water was via a wood-fired donkey. The shared kitchen, dining, and ablutions had water and electricity. There are 4 camping sites with power. It is safe and secluded with a scenic river boundary. There are pleasant walks through the forest and pecan plantations on the farm. We saw blue and grey duiker. The bird life is abundant. We enjoyed Egyptian geese, spoonbill, hadedah, thrush, starling, hammerkop, weaver, and many more. Winterton, with a decent SPAR and fuel stations, is 16 km away (6 km of dirt road). Monks Cowl is about 20 km to the west. There is an abundance of tourist-type activity in the area. The Brewery at the nearby airstrip took my fancy. The days were hot and the nights cool with thunderstorms most nights. Am I going back? A definite yes.
