Selkirk House is a bright, contemporary guesthouse located in a peaceful spot high against the Hermanus mountain, with sweeping views of Walker Bay and the golf course.
The décor is unfussy and modern with white American blinds ensuring cool privacy. The very latest technology is employed to ensure that your stay is comfortable and hassle free, while oldfashioned hospitality makes you feel comfy and at home.

The elegant but comfortably furnished lower lounge opens onto a Karoo stone barbeque area and a splash pool with a tumbling water feature. On the other side or the room sliding doors lead to a large sea-view terrace. The top-floor bar lounge, equipped with a 60“ plasma TV with all DSTV channels, has its own sea-view terrace while also giving access to a rooftop deck where 360° views of mountain and sea can be enjoyed.

Guests can use the computer or internet facilities in the library or relax on its mountain-view terrace, where gently cascading waterfalls convey a sense of peace and tranquillity. The temperature-controlled walk-in wine cellar is stocked with the finest wines from local estates for your enjoyment.

All the luxury suites, each with a private terrace or balcony, have extra-length king size or twin beds with fine percale bed linen and super-soft allergy-free duvets. Each fully automated room is equipped with a bar fridge, tea & coffee tray, flat screen TV, international adapter, mini safe, hairdryer, WiFi internet and iPod station. The generously proportioned bathrooms have a bath, double volume shower, twin washbasins, heated towel rails, cotton gowns and Charlotte Rhys bath products.

The village centre with its many boutiques, bookshops, coffee shops, restaurants, markets, art galleries and museums is a 5-minute drive away.

Hermanus is one of the world’s top land-based whale watching destinations. The Southern Right whales visit these shores in large numbers between the months of July and December.
Rich in fynbos and bird life, Hermanus has much to offer the outdoor enthusiast. Lovely hikes and picnic spots abound along with pristine beaches, amongst which is the famed blue flag Grotto Beach, just a 5 minute-drive from Selkirk House.
