St. Lucia is an enclave in the world renowned iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Place Of Wonder. Although the village is small, perhaps five hundred or less permanent inhabitants it offers all the services and comforts needed. Apart from the Hippopotamus that frequent the village at night in search for grazing, the village of St. Lucia is considered a safe haven. During October of 1999 St. Lucia was declared malaria-free by the authorities. The enthuisiastic members of the Bed and Breakfast Association, known as the Pelican Collection, has been running for the past thirteen years, working together focusing on visitors needs, hence the Pelican Collection logos seen in and around the town.

Airport Travel north on the N2 until you reach the R618 turnoff to Mtubatuba / St. Lucia, approximately 200 km from the airport and 47 km. north of Empangeni. St. Lucia is 25 km. east of Mtubatuba. Once you have crossed the bridge entering St. Lucia, turn left at the circle by McKenzie Street, immediately right into beach Road.
