Welcome to the Maria Shires Falls information page - in addition to guides like this post we also list a wide range of hotels, B&B's, guesthouses and self-catering establishments. Please take a look at our Lowveld page if you're looking for
Lowveld accommodation. Its no coincidence that the area around these falls is an untouched forest, because no sane person could withstand the thunderous sounds generated here after rainfall!
Horseshoe Falls, Lone Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, MacMac Falls, Maria Shires Falls, Lisbon Falls and the Berlin Falls make up a local “Waterfalls tour”. This roundtrip of under 100km shows the best waterfalls in this old gold-mining region. Being along the escarpment of the Drakensberg mountains, this region has a higher density of waterfalls than anywhere else in Southern Africa.
Looking for more than just information? We also list a superior range of
South Africa accommodation on our website. Let us know where you would like to holiday!

Reviews of Maria Shires Falls:
“
Breathtaking and beats Mac Mac Falls hands down.
”
A hidden treasure! NO restricted access or ugly bars to sully the view. Take a walk to the top to view the graves and them slip-slide your way back down. What fun!!!
