Johannesburg accommodation. Oriental Plaza is situated west of the Market Thatre and along Jeppe Street. Permeated by the exotic aroma of Eastern spices, you can find anything from carpets to clothing. The plaza is home to 300 shops and stalls. Many of the traders here are the descendants of Indians who come to the Witwatersrand in the 19th century after their contracts on the sugar plantations expired.
