Guestbook Reviews:The following reviews are from Forest Hall Guest House 's guestbook.
Every time we need to visit PE we stay at Forest Hall and every time we come away feeling totally relaxed, rejuvenated and spoilt! The rooms are large, roomy, bright and spotlessly clean. We particularly love the well established gardens with enormous trees filled with a huge variety of birds, waking up in the mornings to the sound of birds is magical. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay - we are looking forward to our next trip!

Lovely and friendly guest house”
Reviewed March 27, 2012 Lovely guest house. James the owner was most friendly and helpful. Good location for Port Elizabeth Airport. Nice pool area and breakfast. Bedrooms modern and of a good standard, no air con but good ceiling fan. Free wi-fi. glen - April 2012
Excellent guest house located a short drive into PE centre and the waterfront. Warm welcome from James who was very helpful in suggesting restaurants etc for our short stop over. Room was large and clean furnished sympathetically to the history of the property. Small kitchenette and large bathroom. Room opened out onto the gardens and a short walk down the veranda to the main house and breakfast room. Excellent breakfast and some good tips from James for our onward journey. Felt sorry we only stayed for the one night

“Calm, Comfort and a warm welcome”
Reviewed April 20, 2012 We stayed at Forest Hall for two nights. We were looking for a comfortable, relaxed oasis in which to rest up at the end of our trip to South Africa before our long journey home. We were delighted to find everything we needed at Forest Hall. The rooms are large, welcoming, warm and tastefully decorated. Our room looked out onto well established gardens and the accommodation is in a quiet residential suburb. Perfect for a relaxing time and Forest Hall itself has amble secured parking and is only a short drive into PE and the waterfront. Breakfast was wholesome, fresh and plentiful. James is an attentive host and his two dogs are delightful. chinbin - November 2011
A Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed August 30, 2011 Stayed here with my wife and 16 year old daughter for 2 nights at the end of a trip along the Garden Route - and before departing for Johannesberg to continue our tour of South Africa. We stayed in a family room that was perfect - large and really clean with an excellent shower and bath. The owners were away when we visited but the running of the Guest House was in safe hands. We were recommended a nice restaurant close to the Guest House and when we asked about the availability of a taxi to take us there - we were told by the lady in charge that she would take us there - AND collect us so that we could enjoy our meal. What service !! My wife wanted to go on a Township Tour - and thanks to the owner's recommendation a few weeks earlier, we managed to book a Tour with The Calabash Trust as we were happier knowing that the money that we were spending on the Tour was mainly being returned to the Township. I can highly recommend Forest Hall to anyone who wishes to stay in Port Elizabeth as the owner and staff were extremely helpful - and it is ideally located within its own grounds just a few minutes from the airport. The best B&B in Port Elizabeth!
Our group of eight stayed in late February 2011, and we were very pleased with Forest Hall. The hospitality was excellent - and James could not do enough for us! Accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The gardens and swimming pool are an oasis of peace and tranquility, making us almost forget we were near the city centre. Breakfast was excellent, with a large variety of cooked and fresh foods. Forest Hall is a jewel in Port Elizabeth's crown. Rob Rushton - March 2011
Dear James and Hilary
Well back in the cool of England, but at least sunny and Spring could be on its way. On behalf of our group I would like to thank you for our excellent stay with you last month, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Your hospitality made us feel very welcome and your lovely accommodation really helped to make our stay in South Africa a memorable one. Wishing you all the best. EXCELLENT B&B
happened to stumble across this absolute GEM of accommodation in Port Elizabeth. I travel all over South Africa on business for Great Time Timing Systems. We do timing for major Sporting Events. The absolute commitment and passion that James and Hillary have for their business in unsurpassed in the hospitality Industry. It felt like I was at home from the get go. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending FOREST HALL to any visitor Arno Neethling - August 2010
Absolutely brilliant stay
A friend and I stayed at Forest Hall for three days during the World Cup. it was absolutely the perfect place to stay after a long drive on the Garden Route. Located in a lovely suburb of Port Elizabeth - only a few minutes drive mind you from PE - the grounds of this B&B are amazing. 9 or 10 cottages are erected on a lovely landscaped area that also features a pool. A perfect breakfast prepared by the owners James and Hillary Bolton came with the stay. Not to mention they were very accommodating with the times that they served it. we had an early flight our last day there and James woke up early to ensure that we were fed. Great Place! Only stayed at Forest Hall for one night en route to Addo but the B & B was a great base to explore Port Elizabeth from. The owner was extremely helpful in giving us ideas for places to visit and places to eat and even made recommendations for places to visit en route to Addo.
The rooms at Forest Hall are fantastic. Each room is "themed" and we stayed in the english country room which was lovely - Massive bed, fantastic bathroom and all the facilities we needed. The Wi-Fi internet was also extremely useful! A great stay and would not hesitate to go back! Sassle - July 2010
What a pleasure to stay in a Guest House with a beautiful huge spacious garden to relax in and enjoy. James made us feel really welcome and came to the rescue when we discovered we were toasterless. Rooms always cleaned immaculately. Thanks for keeping pool net on and I really appreciated wifi access - made my life much easier thanks a mil! thank you for a restful stay. We'll be back, Jono, Beth and Jaden

This place was a stunning first stop on our tour of the Greater Cape Route. Very elegant rooms - very private and in a quiet setting - really relaxing after several hours travelling and a few delays. It was really just a shame we arrived late in the day and were on the road quite early. We hired our car in PE and the directions and drive to this place was very easy. It is a 10 min drive back into the centre but parking is easy and the owner recommended several restaurants - all of which serve generous portions. Breakfast was lovely - the owner's wife who normally does breakfast was away but her husband did a great job. Two very cute dogs in residence too. Was real value for money. Patty - July 2009 |
