Durban CBD is friendly and easily accessible once affiliated with one-streets. The venue was close to the necessary amenities for the Comrades. The water maintenance could have been done before or after the Comrades weekend and not cause inconvenience to thousands of visitors. Overall the city is well kept and relatively clean with isolated cases (i.e. dilapidated buildings).
The area has a great deal of potential but sadly the beaches are dirty and the general environment of Treasure Beach is in need of attention from the local municipality. It is indeed a treasure but needs some polishing to regain its lustre.
There is 200 steps to the beach, so it isn't accessible to all. But its secluded from the world makes for the best unspoiled beach. It is close to all the Durban Tourism options, which makes it a nice base to operate from. Definitely worth visiting again.
