"Stay out of downtown, it's dystopian. Very sad, as I remember it as a lively and beautiful destination as a child. Ballito was good, and I'm glad we relocated there after one night."
"My wederhelf is 'n Durbaniet en ons het 40 jaar terug ons 'honey moon' hier kom hou. Ons besoek Durban te minste 1 maal per jaar."
"Na die oorstromings is daar sekere infrastruktuur soos water en elektrisiteit wat onderbreek word. Dit probleme iswel besig om aan gespreek te word en ons het n lekker tyd gehad in Durban."
"We found that the people (those serving at UShaka Marine World, shops, restaurants) weren't that friendly. Some areas of Durban were very rundown and apartment buildings looked like they needed to be condemned and not have people living in them. Compared to Cape Town city I was very disappointed in the lack of maintenance. The Indian Ocean was cold when I expected it to be much warmer. I'm glad I went and took young people who enjoyed it, but I don't need to go back."
"It's welcoming with its weather and the surroundings, whether you are a child, an adult or grandparents, it's fun all the way for everyone and you can also enjoy the ocean cruise. In short, it's a wonderful place to spend your holidays."
"Durban was not bad but Ushaka Marine was boring as they were closed at water slides side, the beach was also dirty on Saturday, I even saw the condoms there. So yeah, it was not ayoba. "
"I've been travelling to Durban for more than a decade, it's a place where I destress and find my peace."
"The beachfront area is great and a true travellers dream - Durban town (central) however has slipped into an almost third-world country experience. North of Durban is a great experience as is the upper Berea area."
"Durban self is uiters besig, die stad is nie wat dit was nie, maar Westville is een van Durban se juwele."
"I stay in Durban but I was happy with everything, sometimes we go to Ballito, Umhlanga and Zinkwazi so Durban is a good place to travel to."
"My husband is in a wheelchair and you find special wheelchairs to enjoy the water, the service is free. The best way to help disabled people to feel and enjoy the beach and the waves."
"January/February has very high humidity and temperatures, it takes some getting used to. "
