Instead, pay a little more and get pleasant, clean accommodation.
We had to visit an embassy in the city center so the location was convenient, but this accommodation was very disappointing. Secure parking is advertised but there is no allocated parking, you have to pay R70 per day to park in Thibault Square. There are security guards from the other hotels in the square, but also a lot of bums sleeping there, so it didn't feel very safe. Also very little parking in the square. The accommodation is on the 12th floor and the lift only goes up to the 11th floor. The stairs to the 12th floor are very stylish and uncomfortable to climb for older people. There is an incredibly strong 'steam' smell in the unit. It must be because of the leaking roof, because the whole kitchen roof has a brown water stain. The unit should have been cleaned, but a long time ago, because the thick layer of dust on the floor stuck to everything we put down. They should have made an effort to spray for cockroaches, but it was not pleasant to pick up half-dead cockroaches every morning. If it wasn't for the fact that the beds were very clean/comfortable and the bathroom was tidy, I wouldn't have been able to stay here. If they can paint over the water mark on the roof, do something about the smell and clean before you arrive, it would go a long way in not feeling dirty all the time in this accommodation.
