Lastingham Guest Lodge's response
I am sorry your expectations were not met. Just to clarify the dinner was R 570.00 =R 285.00 pp, it was a 3 course meal, a starter of bruschetta with olive tapenade brinjal tomato concass, locally handmade salami and Parmesan cheese served with rocket and a balsamic reduction, main course was a generous serving of oxtail with root vegetables and basmati rice and dessert panacotta with fresh granadilla. Your room at R 750.00 pps, is in a garden cottage with a king-size bed with percale cotton linen 200 thread count, period furniture to go with the Victorian period homestead, a fireplace and lounge area, shower, ball and claw bath and a small verandah over looking the garden. Breakfast is included in this rate which includes a full buffet to start, fruit salad, homemade yogurts and muesli, fruit juice, cheese etc. A full cooked breakfast is served thereafter, eggs as you like, bacon, tomato, savoury mince, sausage and mushroom toast and coffee. All meals served in the dinning room with damask table cloth and serviettes beautiful glassware and crockery. The cost of food, labour, electricity etc has sky rocketed in SA over the last few years.
