Verhovert House is a trendy self-catering home set on the edge of the Breede River in Lemoentuin, Malagas. Malagas is a settlement on the banks of the Breede River framed by the Potberg Mountain range, 30 km south-east of Swellendam and 280 km or a 2 and a half hour drive from Cape Town.

Verhovert House has been tastefully renovated to a modern split level home with fine finishes, well-suited to honeymooners, small families or that ‘me time’ weekend breakaway. The large windows create an ‘on the water feeling’ and the house offers panoramic views over the river.

The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area opening to a wooden deck. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. This room has lovely views over the river. The second bedroom contains a king-size bed, and a bunk bed that is ideal for 2 children, and a shower en suite with a toilet and a washbasin.

The large kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, and a dishwasher. The large glass windows and folding sliding doors creates a light, bright and sunny area. Enjoy the cold winter days beside the fireplace in the lounge, or the sunny hot days on the braai patio.

Enjoy the quiet moments in the manicured tiered garden or walk down to the river to enjoy the fishing or a boat ride. The house has a jetty and a slipway. Parking for 2 vehicles is available.
