Description
Makhato Lodge 104 is a double-storey self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 104 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, a loft area, 3 bathrooms and a guest toilet, and an open-plan kitchen and scullery, dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed, and a full en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower. The second bedroom contains a double bed, and the third bedroom contains 2 single beds. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms.
The upstairs loft room contains 2 single beds, and a lounge area, built-in bar, and a bathroom with a bath with handheld shower attachment. The loft has sliding doors opening to a covered balcony with a built-in braai and an 8-seater dining table and chairs.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and a breakfast bar with 2 stools. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge offers comfortable seating, a fireplace, ceiling fan, and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. Outside, there is a braai area with a built-in braai and an 8-seater outdoor dining table.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
