Serendipity on Green is the old rectory from a Dutch Reformed Church that has been re-imagined to create a peaceful retreat within a quiet suburb in the far East Rand of Johannesburg. The guest house draws inspiration from your hosts' combined love for Eastern design and time spent working in boutique resorts across Zanzibar, Kenya, Seychelles and South Africa.
Your hosts have used their skills in design, landscaping and cooking to create a unique, up-cycled family run guest house with 3 unique and suites available to choose from.
The Fig Tree suite is the first room ever completed and overlooks a fig tree and koi ponds. The Tree House is a double-storey duplex tree house-inspired guest suite built with 80-percent recycled materials, but still includes a high level of sophistication and unique recycling ideas. The Cherry Blossom suite is the newest suite and boasts a private outdoor seating area, and a private meditation garden under the Japanese cherry blossom tree.
The guest house has a curio shop where you can go and buy handmade crafts, preserves and other goodies. Serendipity on Green is a tranquil oasis with multiple paths through lush gardens and numerous relaxation zones for you to recharge and reconnect. Enjoy the sounds of nature with various water features scattered about the property and an abundance of local bird life. There is also a sunken firepit with seating, a suspended daybed, and a swimming pool.
