Description
Ballots Bay - Silver Mist is a self-catering private wooden cottage is situated within a private nature reserve in George. Guests renting the cottage gain access to the entire reserve including braai areas in the bay, a picnic spot in the forest, fynbos, game viewing walks, plus incredible bird life and the most inspiring views imaginable.
The cottage sleeps 2 guests and has air-conditioning. The cosy bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet, and washbasin. There’s also a hidden outdoor shower that provides breathtaking views into the gorge, indigenous forest, and Outeniqua mountains.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, microwave, cutlery and crockery, and a Nespresso coffee machine. There’s a small dining table with chairs where guests can enjoy their meals together and this area further extends into the living area furnished with a comfortable couch and a smart TV. Free Wi-Fi is available and an inverter is used to remain unaffected by power outages.
The balcony has outdoor seating offering a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean forming a perfect V towards the mouth of the Meulen River in Ballots Bay, completing the breathtaking scene.
The private bay and nature reserve, comprising almost 100 hectares, is for residents and guests only. Providing privacy and exclusive access to a stunning 60 m wide bay with 2 braai areas, some of the best fishing spots imaginable where Knysna louries provide the forest soundtrack.
Guests can enjoy numerous hikes through the magic forest, fynbos, and magnificent flora. There’s a rocky cliff path leading to the secret Cleopatra’s Pool. This accommodation is a paradise for birders and nature lovers as there are wildebeest, zebra, ostriches, bushbuck, springbuck, and caracals that can be spotted.
