Tucked 20 km inland from Dwarskersbos beach, is The Veldhuis, located on a large plot near the edge of the village of Aurora, a sleepy hideaway village rising from the farmlands of the Berg River valley. The Veldhuis is located in the quiet upper town, overlooking the wheat and rooibos fields, and can accommodate 8 guests comfortably.

The house comprises 2 individually furnished bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a lovely kitchen, a dining area, and a cosy lounge area. The main bedroom is located downstairs and is furnished with a queen-sized bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. The second bedroom upstairs is furnished with a double bed, while there's a mezzanine floor upstairs that comprises 4 comfortable single beds. The second upstairs bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet, and there’s also a separate toilet guests can use. All linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, oven, gas stove, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It leads out to the dining room and living area that features a 6-seater dining table with chairs. The living area has comfortable couches, with a large, open fireplace.

Guests walk out onto a lovely patio, which allows for magical sunsets and distant views of the blinking wind farm far on the horizon. The patio offers comfortable outdoor furniture and a lovely built-in braai area. It has all the amenities needed for a perfect weekend escape or for a longer stay to really wind down.

The Veldhuis' main beckoning involves getting back to basics. Lazing on the stoep, cooking up a storm, having a braai on the veranda, or slouching in front of the enormous fireplace may all conspire to tempt one away from the daily grind.
