Description

Trout River Falls is a beautiful trout fishing country lodge situated on the historical farm named Klipsteen, set among the valleys of the misty Steenkampsberg Mountains in Mpumalanga. Trout River Falls offers upmarket self-catering accommodation for couples, families and larger groups. The scenic property is surrounded by lush forests, cascading waterfalls and rolling mountains. There is an abundance of bird life, indigenous forests and wildflowers that will leave you feeling totally relaxed in the tranquillity of nature.

Accommodation is offered in 8 self-catering chalets that can each accommodate up to 2 adults and have an open-plan layout. Each chalet contains 2 single beds or a queen-size bed, underfloor heating, and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. Each chalet has a lounge area with a fireplace, and a TV with OpenView channels. Each chalet has a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, 2-plate mini-stove and oven, tea- and coffee-making facilities, cutlery, crockery and cleaning aids. Each chalet opens to a balcony with outdoor seating and private braai facilities.

An extra single bed can be added in each chalet for younger guests who wish to share with their parents. Socialised pets are welcome by arrangement. The chalets are serviced daily. Secure parking is provided.

The Trout River Falls has an on-site restaurant and fully licensed bar that features a TV with DStv, a fireplace and Wi-Fi. Optional breakfast can be enjoyed daily in the breakfast room or outside in the tea garden overlooking the trout dams and beautiful surroundings.

Fly fishing can be enjoyed on a catch-and-release basis for both novice and experienced fishermen. Take a walk around the lodge and enjoy the scenic spots near the dams or by the magnificent waterfall. Immerse yourself in the natural pool or take a picnic to this idyllic setting. The lodge is the ideal spot for a relaxing weekend getaway or an ideal stopover when travelling to the Kruger National Park and other low-veld destinations. Trout River Falls is easily accessible off main road R540 between Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
