Whispering Thorns Guest Farm
- Farm 77, White River, 1240, Mpumalanga
White River (Afrikaans: Witrivier) is a small holiday and farming town situated just north of Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Most farms in the region produce tropical fruits, vegetables, flowers, timber and more recently macadamias. White River is a popular holiday destination for those looking to visit the Crocodile River Valley and the town has a reputation for its arts and crafts. Whispering Thorns Guest Farm lies just before entering White River Town and is 35 kilometers away from the Kruger National Park. The farm is located in an area of considerable scenic beauty. The climate is said to be one of the best in South Africa, neither excessively hot in summer when rainfall is at its highest, nor overly cold during the sunny winters. The farm is 34 hectares and macadamias will be planted during the next two years. Designed to make the most of its natural setting, this unique guest farm is set amongst spreading natural grassland and numerous thorn trees. Given this backdrop, the farm lends itself perfectly to large special occasions. You can also take time to spot some small wildlife including impala & side striped jackal. Try some bird watching or simply relax alongside the pool in our manicured gardens.
The Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 19,633 square kilometres (7,580 sq mi) in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa, and extends 360 kilometres (220 mi) from north to south.
