Ever since 1710, the wine estate has stayed within the Krone family. Today, the father, Nick Krone is the cellar master, while the oldest son, Matthew, is the winemaker. Nick’s wife Mary is the business brains, and the younger son, Luke, handles the PR. Interestingly, when translated, the name of this wine estate means Two Young Bachelors.
The farm is dedicated to social responsibility, and the majority of farm workers have been a part of the winemaking for many years, and some, for generations. The wine produced here is a sparkling Méthode Cap Classique, and the vineyards are on the east-facing slopes of the Saron Peak, while the actual wine cellar is tucked into the mountain’s base. Cellar tours and wine tastings can be done by prior arrangement. The wine is bottled under the label, “House of Kroneâ€.
