"A first-time visitor to McGregor. This is a great destination. We will definitely go back. Some of the best wines we've tasted and purchased."
"If you are into wine remember to visit De Krans (the Agri opposite the road sells the most delicious ostrich dried wors) and Boplaas in Calitzdorp. 7km outside Oudtshoorn we came across the outstanding Karoo Lusern Butchery. Just after our visit, they won the Cleaver award for best butchery in Western Cape! Between Calitzdorp and Zoar on R62 be sure to visit Seweweekspoort and drive it until you get to the split-in gravel road for Laingsburg. Remember to taste the water there! It's sweet and crystal clear. Between Zoar and Ladysmith is the beautiful Hoeko Valley with its grape vines, fruit trees and poplars. Especially stunning as it changes into autumn colours. So many hidden gems on the R62, it begs for another visit."

"The town was smaller than we envisioned and we battled to find shops or restaurants to use on a Friday evening/night. We only arrived at about 4 pm in the afternoon and left again at 8 am in the morning. I think the town warrants some more exploration."
