Disappointment.

Very disappointed. I'd like to start by saying what a beautiful apartment 103 is. However, there were some downfalls I'd like to bring to your attention. 1. The apartment is very hot, and I think you should consider putting in an air conditioner or a standing fan, as we can't keep windows or doors open at night. See comment 5**. 2. The washing machine is great, but where does one hang the clothes? I suggest you supply a small fold-up clothes rack to hang in the hallway. 3. The write-up and pictures state that there is a restaurant and coffee shop with a lovely braai area upstairs. Need I say more? The pictures of the building are not even the same. False advertising, nothing of the sort. 4. No parking. To park outside the Carrington, it cost me R200 plus per day. The meter ladies from 8 am to 5 pm charge R4.80 for every 15 minutes. I suggest this be looked into, and I have a disabled sticker in my car as my husband is in a wheelchair. 5. On a serious note, I want this attended to and hope to receive some feedback. We were sleep-deprived for the duration of our stay (7 nights). Not one night could we go to bed and have a good night's sleep. We actually catnapped for 7 nights. There is an African nightclub next to our balcony to the right on the corner, and from around 7 pm to 5 am, there is constant drinking, screaming, shouting, throwing of glass bottles, swearing, and dancing in the street, obviously drunk or on drugs. On many occasions, the police and their vans and security had to come and break up the fights and screaming or remove people, and then it starts again. The reception lady and security in Carrington foyer confirmed that this is ongoing and happens every night. This happened over Christmas, and every day, Sunday included. I even once called the police, but nothing helped; they just carried on. Even going to Dischem to buy earplugs never helped. So, my holiday at Carrington was not very fruitful overall. I arrived back home to Johannesburg more tired and stressed out than on arriving at Carrington, hoping to have a relaxing 7 days. I will unfortunately not give a good review due to point no. 5, neither recommend this venue due to the constant noise, screaming, fighting, etc., where one cannot even have one night's sleep.
