House Rules
Compliance with our house rules is essential for every member of your party including your visitors for whom you must obtain prior permission to enter the premises.
A breach of any of these house rules is a breach of the terms and conditions of occupancy.
We reserve the right to evict any guests or visitors from the property who refuse to follow these house rules.
Guests are welcome to ask the hosts if experience any uncertainty during their stay.
Children
Please do not leave children unsupervised at the property. This includes the pool area which is not supervised by the owner.
Damage to property
We understand that accidents do happen. Here is what you need to know about accidental damages or breakages.
• Please report any breakages to your host, especially prior to checkout.
• Please do not move furniture from one room to another with first discussing it with your host.
• In case any damage to the property or contents is not covered by our insurance, the guest will be responsible for the repair cost from the security deposit.
Access to property
Guests are to allow the homeowner access to the property for the purpose of repair and inspection. The homeowner will exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner and advise beforehand where possible.
Injury
We are not insured for personal injury and whilst we take care to ensure our property is safe, we cannot be held liable for injury.
Smoking
Our guest house is a smoke free zone inside. It is important to us to keep our property in the best condition possible. Guests may only smoke in the garden and you are asked not to smoke where it might offend other guests.
• Please do not throw butts into the garden or lawn.
• Should we discover guests have been smoking in the rooms, this will result in loss of your security deposit.
Pets
We do not allow pets on the property.
Kitchen use
• Please be sure to ventilate the kitchen after cooking and avoid preparing anything with a strong smell.
• Please be careful not to wash food remains down the drain. Throw scraps into the bin.
• To help our environment, please only switch on the dishwasher when it is reasonably full and use the eco program where possible.
Washing machine and dryer (only available for room 2 only)
• Please only use the washer/dryer between 9am and 7pm to reduce disruption to other guests.
• Please do not overload or underload the washer and dryer.
No compensation
• South Africa experiences regular power outages due to our power supplier inefficiency. We do provide a backup inverter which will keep the lights on but plugs will not work. Please do not plug anything into the tv outlet which is exclusively for tv and internet. We do not provide compensation for temporary power outages.
• Should water, cable, satellite or telephone service become unavailable, the homeowner will not provide compensation.
Friends and Visitors
We want you to enjoy your time at our guest house but we have some restrictions on visitor numbers. Pre-approval for visitors must be obtained from the owner and we would need names and details of each member of your party.
• Guests may have a maximum of two visitors at any given time during their stay.
• Guests are responsible for ensuring that visitors comply with the house rules.
• Additional overnight guests must be approved in advance and are subject to an additional cost no more than that are allowed.
• Parties and social gatherings are strictly prohibited. Small gatherings must comply with our house rules relating to noise, the neighborhood and visitor numbers and can only occur within the confines of the suite you have rented.
Parking
• Please use the paved parking spaces in front of the house.
• If you do have a visitor, please ask the visitor to park over the road in the cleared area.
• Please don’t block the neighbor’s access to their property.
Safety and security
Please make sure you lock your room when you leave and make sure all doors and windows are secure. We are not responsible for loss of personal belongings or valuables.
