Not well maintained.

Grass not kept tidy. Outside dirty. No television unless you log into your own account which was not said in advance. Problem getting into the gate as it must be manually opened each time. Difficulty reaching reception on phone lines.

Warm welcome, excellent service.

We recently stayed at the airport lodge as a layover after an overnight flight from Europe and before and internal flight. I wanted a place that would be OK with a mini family reunion as this was my only chance to see family in the JHB area. The staff could not have been more helpful and kind. The facilities are well maintained. They have everything you need for a short or longer stay. I really recommend this as a great alternative to the soulless airport hotel options and hope to return again. Thank you!

Baie teleurgesteld in die verblyf teen die tarief wat betaal is.

Met ons bespreking het ons 'n 1 dubbelkamer bespreek wat ons aangeneem het dat daar 'n dubbelbed gaan wees. Groot was ons verbasing dat daar slegs 2 enkelbeddens in was. Die ontvangsdame het ons daarna na 'n ander kamer geskuif wat 'n dubbelbed gehad het. Die dubbelbedmatras het ook al beter dae gehad en is al hol gelê na die middel toe. Daar word ook slegs 2 badhanddoeke verskaf en geen hande handdoek nie. Die eenheid is glad nie skoon nie. Ons kon nie die handdoeke ophang nie, aangesien die handdoekreling alreeds uit die muur begin lostrek het. Die ketel het ook nie gewerk nie en daar was slegs 2 sakkies koffie gewees wat ons in elk geval toe nie kon gebruik nie. Met ontbyt was daar slegs een personeellid wat aan die groot hoeveelheid gaste se behoeftes moes voorsien en kon sy nie bybly om te sorg dat daar deurlopend genoeg melk, ens. op die sytafels beskikbaar was nie. When we booked we booked a 1 double room which we assumed would have a double bed. Great was our surprise that there were only 2 single beds in it. The receptionist then moved us to another room that had a double bed. The double bed mattress has also seen better days and is hollow towards the middle. Also, only 2 bath towels are provided and no hand towel. The unit is not clean at all. We couldn't hang up the towels as the towel rail had already started to pull away from the wall. The kettle didn't work either and there were only 2 bags of coffee which we couldn't use anyway. At breakfast, there was only one member of staff who had to meet the needs of the large number of guests and she could not keep up to ensure that there was continuously enough milk, etc. was not available on the side tables. We feel it is unfair to the member of staff to leave her alone to look after such a large number arriving for breakfast at the same time. When we left, we first had to drive back to reception to ask them to open the gate. Upon our arrival we were not provided with a code. We would not recommend the accommodation at all.
